Brendan joined us in October 2008 bringing with him his Brighton practice of Johnson McCabe. He had been a partner there for 28 years and Principal for the last 14. He has over 35 years of experience in property matters generally with some private client work for established clients. Recognising the market trend, it was a natural choice to combinine his experience with the existing strengths of Engleharts to ensure our clients continue to enjoy a high level of service.

Josie has many years experience as a conveyancer and deals with all aspects of residential property transactions. Her team frequently works with first-time buyers and hand holds them through the whole process which could potentially be a daunting experience for those new to buying property. Josie speaks fluent German and French and is well versed in buying properties in France. Josie firmly believes in creating favourable experiences which build trust.

Maria is a Solicitor in the Private Client department. Having qualified after completing her degree at Sussex University, she has always been local to Brighton. She specialises in Private Client work and enjoys assisting clients with all aspects of planning for their future. Maria is popular with her clients and is often complimented on her efficient and friendly approach. She feels that Engleharts offers a complete and personal service tailored to meet the needs of every client on an individual basis.

Sue is an Executive with over 25 years of experience in the Private Client sector. She will provide you with a friendly, efficient and professional service in all areas of Private Client work. She specialises in Elderly Client Care and recognizes that each client’s needs are different and will assist as much or as little as required. She can help in all areas such as the management of your financial affairs, ensuring that you are receiving the right benefits, form filling, finding suitable nursing homes etc. Sue is happy to make home visits if required.

Kent deals with the substantial private client litigation. He offers a wide range of advice in connection with contentious matters and focuses on aiming to resolve disputes before they go to court. Kent often deals with high profile High Court and Court of Appeal cases. The litigation team is able to tailor services to meet an individual’s needs and can be involved at any stage of a dispute. In order to achieve this high level of personal service, the team is extremely experienced and organised with up-to-the-minute IT support.

Adam was admitted as a solicitor in 1992 having completed his traineeship at a medium sized city practice in London. A law graduate from the University of Sussex he spent a number of years lecturing in law. He graduated with a law Masters in International Criminal law and was called to the bar in 1999. Adam has wide experience in all aspects of criminal work having both prosecuted and defended; he has experience of white collar crime having worked in a specialist fraud practice and a pupil barrister. He has experience in all aspects of property work, including land law and tenant; general litigation; and family law work. Adam is a keen tennis player and a member of a local club in Hove.

Neil has provided a friendly personal service to clients in residential conveyancing matters since 1986. Over the years he has established long-term relationships with a large number of clients and excellent working relationships with estate agents. Neil has a structured conveyancing work ethic and has a dedicated assistant and completion assistant which we believe helps to provide a seamless, stress free process for his clients and agents alike.

Michael qualified as a solicitor with a Brighton firm 28 years ago and spent most of the last 16 years in a City practice specialising in commercial property work for investors. He joined the firm in October 2011 and as well as property, Michael deals with business sales and general commercial matters. A resident of Hove, Michael is delighted to have given up the travelling so he can add this experience to a strong local firm.

Kevin qualified as a solicitor in December 1974. In 1983 he opened his own firm and practiced as a sole practitioner for 23 years. He joined Engleharts as a Consultant in October 2011. He specialises in Conveyancing, both residential and commercial and Wills. He is a great believer in keeping in regular contact with clients and in seeing them in person at least once during a transaction wherever possible rather than only relying on written reports.
Legal Executive
Colin works as a support consultant in the litigation department. He has over 40 years’ experience dealing with family matters and civil litigation.
Beryl has worked as David Englehart’s assistant for more than twenty years, dealing with clients and the initial drafting of commercial and property agreements.
Anne is the private client assistant for Sue and Maria.
Annie is the litigation secretary for Kent Reynolds, Adam Suzin and Colin Nowlan.
